Students participate in Project Lead the Way which consist of Design and Modeling along with an introduction to Automation & Robotics.

We start the semester with  Design and Modeling: This unit begins with students learning how to create and use an engineering notebook, which will be used throughout the Gateway To Technology (GTT) course. Students learn about STEM courses (science, technology, engineering, and math) with a strong focus on the engineering process.  The metric and customary systems of measurement are studied, to enhance their sketching and dimensioning techniques. Students also learn how to use 3D  design software.

All these skills learned throughout the course will be be used  to complete  their final project of designing and creating a therapeutic toy for a student with cerebral palsy.  Towards the end of the semester we have a short introduction into Automation and Robotics.
